4.1 Business Hubs
Activation of Business Hubs to support Start-Ups and Small Business
Ensure that there is a range of appropriate business support services available in Southern Adelaide at strategic business hubs – Tonsley, Hallett Cove, Noarlunga, McLaren Vale and Aldinga – where there is a cluster of networking and educational activities to support the various stages of entrepreneurialism and business development.
These business hubs need to continue to position Southern Adelaide as the source of premium goods and services by nurturing and growing existing exporters and developing new exporters. Export focussed businesses are open to new ideas, management practices, marketing techniques and employ competitive practices. Current total regional exports for Southern Adelaide is $4.2 bn supporting
16 853 jobs.
Tonsley is the beacon of innovation and entrepreneurialism. Small businesses from around the region should be able to access the benefits that the Innovation District and GigCity initiatives can offer. Furthermore, residents need to understand the benefits of Tonsley to participate in and support a start-up culture.
Encouraging a start-up culture across the region will pave the way for new income streams for families.
As a region we need to work smarter by linking, connecting and developing strategic partnerships within the business advisory ecosystem to add additional value to businesses and business associations.
